
Chimichurri Sauce
A traditional Latin American sauce, chimichurri can be used as a marinade and works great as a dipping sauce for grilled shrimp, steak, lamb, chicken kebabs, even pita chips or french fries. While many versions of chimichurri use mint, this one uses oregano and parsley to create a unique sauce that is both delicious and versatile.
Ingredients
- 1 cup Italian parsley, loosely packed
- 3 tablespoons chopped oregano leaves
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ¼ cup red wine vinegar
- ½ cup extra virgin olive oil
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Chop parsley and add to a bowl with oregano, red pepper flakes, garlic and vinegar.
- Whisk together.
- Add olive oil and whisk until completely blended.
- Add salt to taste and serve at room temperature.
