Oven Fries with Fresh Herbs
Sometimes oven fries can make you miss the added flavor that comes with deep frying. But, by seasoning your oven fries with plenty of fresh rosemary, sage, garlic, and sea salt, you can have fries that taste just as delicious as deep fried fries without all the added fat. Of course, a little Parmesan cheese sprinkled over your fries never hurt either.
Ingredients
- 2 large baking potatoes, cut into 4-by-1/2 inch sticks
- 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 clove garlic
- 1 tablespoon fresh sage, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup grated Romano or Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- In large bowl, add potatoes and olive oil to evenly coat the potatoes.
- Spread the potato sticks on rimmed baking sheet in a single layer; bake in oven, turning once with a spatula until they are golden and crispy, about 30 minutes.
- Sprinkle finely chopped herbs and garlic over the fries and toss well. Roast for 5 minutes, until herbs are fragrant and garlic is lightly browned.
- Transfer fries to a large bowl and toss with cheese.
- Season with salt and pepper.
