It’s getting to be that time of year again. There’s a chill in the air and frost on the ground, and Ben’s starting to do nothing but talk on and on about how badly he wants Rockband 3 for Christmas (he doesn’t know I secretly bought it for him two weeks ago ! J). Actually, I’m feeling pretty ready for the December holidays. I’ve already bought quite a few gifts—did my shopping early this year! But, Thanksgiving is a whole other story.
I already know Tom wants to do his famous roast turkey with roasted garlic and fresh herb gravy, and my mom is making sourdough bread stuffing with fresh herbs (stuffing is always her favorite dish at Thanksgiving!), and Ben and I have rosemary sweet potatoes under control, but we still need a couple of vegetable side dishes, an hors d’oeuvre, and a great cocktail. Oh, and a dessert! I’d like something a little more unusual than plain old pumpkin pie, but I still want all that delicious pumpkin pie flavor—maybe a pumpkin cheesecake? Can’t let the pumpkin pie spice go to waste. Any ideas?
