Bittman’s Last Bite:
Saying Goodbye to the Minimalist

Sadly, January 26th was food writer and chef Mark Bittman’s last “Minimalist” column for The New York Times. Since 1997, Bittman has been making the lives of home cooks everywhere just a little bit simpler with his easy, weekly recipes and cooking videos.

We’ll miss his fresh and healthy recipes like Zucchini Soufflés with plenty of fresh parsley, Pasta Handkerchiefs with Chunky Pesto, Broiled Sardines with Lemon and Thyme, and so many more.

Fortunately, Mark’s not entirely retreating from The Times. He’ll be writing a weekly column on the changing role of cooking and eating in American culture that will be published in the Opinion pages, and he’ll be publishing a new recipe in The Times Magazine every Sunday.

We’ll miss the Minimalist, but at least, we’ll still have a bit of Bittman around when we need him.
