Deb Perelman, the cook behind the Smitten Kitchen food blog.

Another great food blog find, the Smitten Kitchen has been around since 2006 and is still going strong.  Run by writer, cook, and food photographer extraordinaire Deborah Perelman, this blog is all about easy, fresh and delicious comfort food.  As Deb puts it:

“What we’re wary of is: Excessively fussy foods and/or pretentious ingredients. We don’t do truffle oil, Himalayan pink salt at $10 per quarter-ounce or single-origin chocolate […].  We think food should be accessible, and are certain that you don’t need any of these things to cook fantastically.”

With great ideas for using fresh herbs in everyday cooking, including Creamed Mushrooms on Chive Butter Toasts, Mediterranean Eggplant and Barley Salad with fresh mint and parsley, and Chard and White Bean Stew with fresh thyme and bay, we’re sure Deb will have you smitten with your own kitchen in no time.
