Apple-Mint Sauce

Apple-Mint Sauce

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 15 minutes

Total Time: 25 minutes

This super easy apple-mint sauce is great to go alongside your savory fall meals. The simplicity of this side dish won't overpower, while still creating a refined finish. A perfect companion to roast pork tenderloin dinners, adding a nice splash of color, as well as an offset of sweet complementary flavors.

Ingredients

  • 6 large granny smith apples, peeled, cored, and coarsely chopped
  • 2/3 cup sweet white wine
  • 2 tablespoons caster sugar
  • 2 tablespoons fresh mint, chopped

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine apples, sugar, and wine. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, for five minutes or until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Gradually increase heat to bring apple mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce to low heat. Cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until apples soften.
  3. Cool for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place apple mixture in a food processor and process until pureed.
  5. Transfer to a serving bowl, add mint, and stir until well combined.
  6. Serve warm or chilled.
