Apple-Mint Sauce
This super easy apple-mint sauce is great to go alongside your savory fall meals. The simplicity of this side dish won't overpower, while still creating a refined finish. A perfect companion to roast pork tenderloin dinners, adding a nice splash of color, as well as an offset of sweet complementary flavors.
Ingredients
- 6 large granny smith apples, peeled, cored, and coarsely chopped
- 2/3 cup sweet white wine
- 2 tablespoons caster sugar
- 2 tablespoons fresh mint, chopped
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine apples, sugar, and wine. Cook over low heat, stirring constantly, for five minutes or until sugar is dissolved.
- Gradually increase heat to bring apple mixture to a boil. Once boiling, reduce to low heat. Cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until apples soften.
- Cool for about 5 minutes.
- Place apple mixture in a food processor and process until pureed.
- Transfer to a serving bowl, add mint, and stir until well combined.
- Serve warm or chilled.
