The Classic Mint Julep (sugar cube version)

The mint julep is a classic cocktail often associated with the American south, but enjoyed far and wide! This no fuss julep recipe ditches the mint syrup and uses sugar cubes and fresh mint leaves for julep that's ready fast and tastes like summer.

Ingredients

  • 2 sugar cubes
  • 6-8 mint leaves
  • 2oz bourbon
  • Ice

Instructions

  1. Place mint leaves and sugar cubes into a sturdy 6oz tumbler
  2. Muddle mint and sugar together in the bottom of the glass until well combined. While muddling, you may add a small splash of water or bourbon to help the sugar dissolve.

  4. Fill the glass with ice and pour the remaining bourbon over the top.
  5. Stir vigorously, garnish with another mint sprig and enjoy!
