Basil-Wrapped Cheese Balls

Combining the creamy richness of gorgonzola and mascarpone, the salty bite of Paremsan, and the fresh green flavor of basil, these cheese balls are a new twist on an old favorite.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup mascarpone cheese (4 oz)
  • ½ cup crumbled gorgonzola cheese (2 oz)
  • 2 tables grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 24 large basil leaves (2 to 2 ½ inches long)

Instructions

  1. Mix cheeses and pepper until well blended.
  2. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes or until firm enough to shape into balls.
  3. Shape 1 ½ teaspoons cheese mixture into a ball, rolling slightly into an oval form about 1 inch long.
  4. Place on basil leaf and roll up.
  5. Serve immediately.

Quick Notes

You can keep any remaining cheese spread in the refrigerator for 1 day.
