Fresh Fruit-and-Herb-Infused Water

Staying hydrated in the warmer months is essential to one’s vitality, and it’s always helpful to find new, fresh ideas to keep hydration interesting. Here are a few quick ideas for taking your everyday water from drab to fab.

Mint Water: Simple and basic, yet so refreshing! Also exceptional with blackberries.

  1. Add about 1 tablespoons of chopped fresh mint leaves to a glass of ice water.
  2. Grab a colorful straw, and stir lightly from bottom.
  3. Sip and enjoy!

Strawberry Basil Water: A Rejuvinating Duo.

  1. Add thin slices from 2 fresh strawberries to a glass of ice water
  2. Chop  3-4 fresh basil leaves and combine in glass with strawberries.
  3. Instert straw, sip, and be revived!

Cucumber-Cilantro Lemon Water: A tart twist on refreshment.

  1. In a glass of ice water, add 3-4 slices of fresh cucumber.
  2. Add about 1 teaspoon chopped fresh cilantro
  3. Finish with 2 fresh lemon slices and a fun straw.

If you have time to spare, a more intense infused water can be achieved by adding herbs and fruit to water first, either in a glass or pitcher, an hour or two before adding ice and serving. (If infusing an entire pitcher of water, be sure to increase ingredient amounts accordingly.)
