Garden Fresh Desserts

Is there anything better than eating a handful of fresh raspberries or strawberries? Sure there is. Try making a light fruit salad that combines seasonal fruit with chopped fresh mint leaves, lime juice, and honey; it’s a healthy dessert that won’t fail to satisfy your sweet tooth.
Like fresh squeezed lemonade? Make it an herbalicious lemonade float. Check out our lemon thyme and honey-basil ice cream, and then drop an icy scoop or two in your lemonade. Don’t forget to add chopped mint leaves as a garnish to store-bought ice creams or homemade chocolate desserts.
Gardener’s Note: Mint plants will grow in the sun or shade, as long as the soil is moist. When growing mint, consider confining the plants in containers so that it doesn’t take over your yard. A 12-inch wide planter of mint will yield a generous bunch every week.
